Slaughterhouse Five---post #48
For my choice reading, I choose Slaughterhouse Five. It is a good book in my opinion. Basically, it is about Kurt Vonnegut, or "Yon Yonson" (name he calls himself in the book) writing baout his time at Dresdin during the war. He had this friend, Billy Pilgrim, during the war. He is a very interesting character. He is now a middle aged, metally ill man. The reaosn for his mental illness is that he was in a car accident years back. Now, he had very frequent flashbacks of the war and other events that took place during his life. Another thing he often speaks of though is his kidnapping by the Tralfamadorians. They are like space aliens, but humans, and they come from a place called Tralfamadore. They some how "kidnapped" Billy and took him to their planet during his time at Dresdin. Obviously, this is not true. But for some reason or another, probebly because of his mental illness, he thinks otherwise. HIs daughter is always worring about him. She often comes home looking for him, but she won't find him for maybe 20 minutes because he is off hiding somewhere. This could become a serious issue in Billy Pilgrims life, and the novel for that matter.
